CHRISTMAS BLOG WITH NO MENTION OF ‘BEIGLI’
Christmas is always a rough time in a company’s life. We want like to express our gratitude to our clients and translators, as without them we wouldn’t be where we are now. This is why we have been giving gifts for years, running around, but ultimately this brings only moderate joy.
The ones we really wanted to meet didn’t have time for us, or their company already have an “acceptnogiftpolicy” in place.
In past years, we tried to make Christmas merrier for children in need with shoebox donations, which programme many of our freelance colleagues also joined. This is also a generous gesture and we are grateful to everyone who took the trouble and came, brought, helped. Still, we felt something was missing.
Before the holiday season, we talked a lot about our gift-giving habits, and the ways we could express our love and commitment as a company….
AND FINALLY, WE FOUND OUR WAY.
From now on, we will be surprising the young members of a very special community, the residents of the Child Protection Centre of Heves County.
After having discussed and organised everything with the director of the children’s home, we could hardly wait for the children’s wishes to arrive and to become helping angels. It felt touching and special. A great responsibility and immense joy at the same time.
For days, there was excited dialogue at the office about on where to buy good indoor football boots or what kind of baby kitchen three-year old girls dream of. Or which plush blanket is the softest? We brainstormed, shopped, wrapped and with a little help, the packages were transported to Pétervására.
The Christmas party was held on 20 December. I’m not allowed to post photos or videos but let me just say, seeing the girl spinning with a doll, the teens enjoying a music box and the smile of the proud owner of a remote-controlled car is indescribable.
NOW we all feel very good. There’s nothing missing, but we don’t want to stop here.
In spring, we want to visit the children again, and I’m certain our creative, determined and committed team will be able find further ways to help.
Thank you for your year-round diligent work which helped us make our desires a reality.
We hope that we have created a tradition this year, and that next year you’ll also be joining the EDIMART Angels.
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
EDIMART
